Managed IT Support

How Kennerley Retail Investments Stays Ahead in a Fast-Changing Industry with Managed Services

Kennerley Retail Investments recognized the need for proactive IT support in the face of a rapidly changing industry and increasing cyber threats. Previously relying on iT360 for ad hoc assistance, they decided to transition to a comprehensive managed services plan. This strategic move allowed them to focus on growing their online presence while ensuring robust cybersecurity measures, regular data backups, and efficient IT equipment procurement. By partnering with iT360, Wayne and his team can now concentrate on providing exceptional products and services to their customers without worrying about IT-related challenges.

Company spotlight

Kennerley Retail Investments, a small business operating multiple brands like Paddock to Pantry and The Meatbox under the leadership of CEO Wayne Kennerley for over 17 years, has recently undergone a significant IT transformation. With the pandemic, Wayne recognized the need for more proactive IT support to accommodate the rising demand for technology as well as the threats that come alone with it.

Previously relied on iT360 on an ad hoc basis, the growing business required additional IT help. Previously only using a handful of computers, Kennerley Retail Investments has grown over the years and now needs support for an almost endless number of devices.

Amidst his busy schedule, Wayne took the time to share his experience with us.

The Problem

In today’s fast-paced, ever-changing world, problems can arise unexpectedly and catch us off guard. The pandemic has brought about unprecedented challenges for individuals and businesses alike, shining a light on the importance of being prepared for the unexpected.

Wayne recognized this shift happening and needed to find a way to remain secure in the face of these potential threats. He knew iT360 had the experience and expertise necessary to help his business stay secure, but he also knew that their ad hoc relationship was no longer enough.

One concrete example he shared was a hack that happened two years ago. He said, “the Waikato District Health Board (DHB), a government organization got hacked. If a big organization like that got hacked, then what about the small businesses like ours…you need to do what you can to protect yourself.”

We worked closely with the Wayne to develop a comprehensive IT managed services plan that encompassed everything from monitoring their IT equipment to ensuring regular data backups and robust cyber security measures were in place. Additionally, purchasing equipment direct through iT360 made the client’s procurement process much simpler.

We understood the importance of providing a thorough IT services plan to meet the specific needs of this client. We worked diligently with the client to create a solution that took an end-to-end approach, monitoring their IT assets and ensuring regular data backups and robust cyber security measures.

To streamline the procurement process, we gave them the ability to purchase IT equipment directly through iT360 Direct. Making ordering simple and cost efficient was essential in making sure our client had all the technology they required for their business operations.

By aligning ourselves with the core goals and objectives of our client, we provided them with peace of mind regarding their IT systems.

How We Helped

With the new managed services plan, our team took the reins of the client’s IT support, allowing them to shift their focus to other important areas of the business.

We provided regular monitoring of their IT systems to prevent issues before they became problems. Our team stepped up to regularly perform data backups, as well as ensured there was a solid disaster recovery plan in place.

By taking over the management of the client’s cyber security measures, we provided much-needed peace of mind amidst a rapidly changing and challenging cyber threat landscape.

Without a system in place, any growing company can face “silly” mistakes like an employee losing a laptop without a password. Now, all these risks are managed by our team of IT specialists.

While brick and mortar will continue, we are increasingly focus on growing our online business…it’s something I used to worry about, and I don’t worry about it as much.

What’s Next

By switching from an ad hoc IT support to managed services, Kennerley Retail Investments no longer have to worry about the little things—like when somebody’s laptop gets stolen and it doesn’t have a password, or having a password as password.

Now, Wayne and his companies can focus on what matters most—running its own business and providing quality products and services to its customers.

One of the things that I was really grateful for was right from the minute of conception where we had our first meeting, to when it rolled out, it was very, very quick…the issues that we were having with the previous company, we didn’t have to deal with them for very long once iT360 came on board and we signed up with them.
